Samatha Cooke is from Austin, Texas and dreams of mercilessly editing trashy young adult novels. You know, something everyone should strive for.
Jules Dalessandro is from New York…and no, upstate doesn't count.
Priscilla Foreman is a History/Media Studies Major. She has no clue about her next steps but is down for this adventure called life.
Claire Gruen likes cool pants and wishes she lived in Stars Hollow.
Sarah Gunter loves all things English, but currently feels like Silvia Plath sitting in her figurative fig tree. She still holds onto a cautious optimism about the future, though.
Trang Nguyen is from Vietnam, loves coffee, and is always looking forward to an 8-hour-sleep day. She sees you and may know what you did last summer.
Hayden Summers is a sophomore English major from Nashville, TN. She wants to be the next JK Rowling, but minus the bigotry.
Audrey Vick is a senior at Rhodes from Chicago, IL.
Brandon Walker is a junior Neuroscience major who thinks its important to remember that even if the early bird gets the worm, the second mouse gets the cheese.
Natalie Watson is a freshman at Rhodes College. She enjoys chocolate chip cookies and is currently majoring in Undecided.
Abby Wingfield is a sophomore at Rhodes College and hopes to one day edit books for money.

Jenny Benton, ‘24 is a sophomore from Saint Louis, majoring in international relations and French. They are passionate about photography, limericks, and learning about other cultures and languages. Their favorite color and ice cream flavor is lavender. They like to write short stories for fun and mostly for themself.
Katelyn Bush, ‘25 is a Memphis native planning to major in English with a minor in computer science. (She knows it's a weird combination.) When she's not writing, she enjoys cooking up new recipes and rewatching her favorite television shows.
Anaïs Dauriac is a French Burundian Black woman and an exchange student from the University of Lille in France. She is grateful for this experience that allowed me to discover more about the world and myself. Her autoportait is part of the work I did that helped me understand myself.
Caitlin Evans, ‘22 is a senior English and Creative Writing major at Rhodes. Although she usually writes short fiction pieces, it was exhilarating to dabble in poetry. She is originally from Memphis and currently lives with her precious pup, Winston.
Priscilla Foreman ‘23 is a junior Media Studies and History major from White Hall, Arkansas. She is a clumsy extrovert who loves hiding behind a camera, where she loves to immortalize the quiet moments that surround our busy lives.

Claire Gruen is a freshman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who plans to major in English. She is a member of the Sou’wester staff and the Equestrian Club, and is passionate about art, dogs, and Spotify playlists.
Edith Holzman, ‘24 a Freshman from Austin, Texas. She started making art her Junior year of high school during her second year of art history. Her first piece was called "The Truth in Beauty" and was created for a curation project in which she wrote a 25-page paper about how beauty is portrayed in art and its effects on societal ideals of beauty.
Tyrese Jamison ‘23 never really know what he should say for these things other than, "don't know what to say for these these things." He guesses he is a fiction writer, but that's just a fancy term for a big stinking liar in my book.
Alisha Joseph, ‘24 is a sophomore from Brooklyn, New York. She is majoring in Educational Studies and hope to do policy work in the future! In her free time, she enjoy writing, dancing, and hanging out with friends.
Erin Parker, ‘24 a sophomore Philosophy major and Political Science minor. She was born and raised in Memphis and is involved with lots of organizations on campus like AKA, Day Scholars, Roots, and Class Council.
Betsy Phillips, ‘22 is a senior Ancient Mediterranean Studies major from south Arkansas. She began writing poetry as self-expression as she navigated the newness and loneliness of being a college freshman. Her work has been featured in previous issues of The Southwestern Review and the most recent issue of Dredge zine.
Zara Raezer, '22, is an English and History major from Fayetteville, Arkansas. She currently serves as an Editor for the Rhodes Historical Review and as Vice President of the Rhodes chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. After college, Raezer intends to adopt a cat and pursue writing as a career.
Sage Scott ‘23, is a native Memphian interested in telling stories of the contemporary and historical south through the lenses of marginalized people. She primarily works in spoken word and long-form poetry but enjoys experimenting with many forms including screenplays for her short films.
Hayden Summers is a sophomore English major on the creative writing track from Nashville, Tennessee. She enjoys reading writing and painting. She hopes to be a successful author in the future.
Mi’Destini Victorian, ‘22 is a first-generation senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Africana Studies. She is a Bonner Scholar, a member Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and the founder of Ethereal Apparel—a brand providing affirmations and apparel to remind followers of their heavenly, spiritual, beautiful, lovely, and divine nature.
Marley Wisby is a senior from Nashville, Tennessee majoring in Studio Art and minoring in Business. They enjoy making everything from button-down shirts to wooden spoons to big colorful paintings. After graduation, they plan to pursue a Masters in Fine Art and a career in art education.
Yeoja is a senior at Rhodes College, majoring in business with a philosophy minor. However, in her free time, she loves to read and write creative nonfiction.
Cristian Perez is a nomad who constantly shifts between different parts of his identity to understand the world that surrounds him.
Sana Zein-Sabatto, ‘25 was born and raised in Nashville, TN, but is originally from Syria. She hopes to pursue a major in Biology on the pre-vet track. She has always enjoyed doing all sorts of art since She was a child. As of today, she enjoys mixed media art and tries to incorporate global issues into her work.
